Accounting Manager
Cactus is seeking an Accounting Manager to manage key accounting functions and contribute to the department’s accuracy and efficiency. This role focuses on overseeing core accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the agency's financial operations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, professional with a strong background in accounting principles, problem-solving, and financial analysis.
Salary:
$75,000-$90,000 commensurate with experienceLocation:

Job Roles
Manage and perform key daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting functions, including hands-on involvement with general ledger maintenance, accounts payable & accounts receivable.
Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Prepare and assist in the review of financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Manage the reconciliation of bank and credit card statements, including overseeing high-volume credit card processing and complex vendor payments.
Manage amortization schedules and prepare/review various general journal entries.
Oversee and assist with the preparation and submission of Form 1099s annually.
Prepare the company’s monthly sales and use tax returns for Denver and Colorado and assist with other tax compliance matters.
Assist in the annual budgeting process, including data gathering, preparation, and analysis
Help implement and maintain internal control processes and procedures to ensure compliance.
Assist in managing company cash flow and coordinating banking functions like transfers and deposits.
Identify opportunities and actively assist in implementing enhancements to accounting processes and workflows for improved efficiency.
Support financial system maintenance and assist with upgrades or new system implementations.
Assist with annual audits, including preparing necessary schedules and coordinating with auditors.
Participate in and manage assigned ad hoc financial projects and initiatives.
Assist in guiding and mentoring accounting staff, providing support and knowledge sharing.
Serve as a key resource for interdepartmental financial communication and assist in resolving inquiries.

Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience
Experience in guiding or mentoring a team is a plus.
Experience with media-related accounting preferred.
Experience with month-end/year-end close processes, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
Experience with general bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processing.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft office products and Google Workspace products required.
Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Workamajig, Freewheel/Strata and optical reader software preferred.
In-depth working knowledge of AR & AP accounting functions.
Strong working knowledge of financial and accounting systems and cycles.
In-depth working knowledge of AR & AP accounting functions.
Proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
Understanding of internal controls and their application.
Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
